Time Together

For Part two of the VAN 12-Park Tour, we met in the parking lot and ran into a group of GeoCachers gathering for their tour. After some time visiting, our team began a Tai Chi warm-up session led by VAN’s very own VP, Steve. After the warm-up, we headed out on our adventure along a wooden, elevated path alongside the Hillsborough River, which took us underneath Morris Bridge Road, where we linked up with the hiking trail. 

On our tour, we had veterans, business owners, and an American Immigrant from Iran, Jaleh, who shared her immigration story and heartfelt thanks to the veterans there.  It was incredible to witness her opportunity to thank veterans personally for the freedom she now enjoys as an American citizen. 

Steve took the crew on a jag to the northwest as we strolled along the pathway bringing us onto a more narrow path that was occupied by cyclists. Cyclists and hikers don’t mix too well, so we found our way back to the main trail to continue our journey. We made our way along the Trout Creek Trail which is about 1.5 miles out and ends at a glorious deck with 360 degree water views. It was a perfect spot to take a water break and a few pictures. Jaleh decided we should all attempt a water logged trail. It was fun to try, but we eventually came to an area that was not crossable and had to turn back.
